WIAW GOES GREENAlright, so my friends who have experienced the quarter system can hopefully relate to the fact this I’m in the midst of what is known as Dead Week.  Let me clarify, Dead Week doesn’t actually mean the week is dead, I think it is more synonymous to just plain death.  You still have classes, papers, and projects to attend to, but the impending doom of finals (next week) is what makes it’s a wee bit crazy.  So during these next 1.5 weeks I expect my Lululunches to be an everyday occurrence to maximize library time and tweeting to be at an all-time high.  But after this little sprint, I only have 10 more weeks of undergrad!!!! Holla.

Breakfast

If it’s not broken don’t fix it, right? I stuck to my normal oats + wheat bran + peanut flour + banana + blueberries + peanut butter combo.  And a nice big mug of coffee.

All I really wanted was yogurt so I threw some Pineapple Chobani on top of frozen mixed berries + almond milk then garnished my creation with globs of peanut butter.  I packed some roasted kabocha + brussels and an apple for good measure.

Someone else at UCSB (other than my roomies) that packs #lululunches ! Only in Santa Barbara would this Lululuncher be a male…

Venti Iced Coffee with Soy Milk + SF Vanilla Syrup.  Absolutely necessary when studying pharmacology.

The Rowing Team was having a fundraiser at Silvergreens so obviously I had to support my little rowers! I got the Green Apple Salad & Hummus Delight Sandwich which was indeed delightful.

How do you deal with impending stress?

Any tips/comment/suggestions to stay sane?

  1. When I was studying for my last exams at university my room-mates and me would make sure we’d have a few breaks in the day together where we stopped and hung out. Even if that meant just meeting in the kitchen and gossiping for 20 minutes. It kept everyone sane. Good luck!

Actually funny story- one of my best guy friends was jealous of my lululunch bag!! But he’s also a girl (and is technically straight even though he himself admits that he’s 3/4 gay from a materialistic standpoint). The trend is spreading! I love it :)

  3. The food looks really good…the down side is I’m allergic to about half of it. :P

Um, did you know that UC Berkeley gets a real dead week with NO CLASSES. Yep, they have a week before finals to just hang out. I think we quarter system-ers need that more than the semester people.

Your Silvergreen meal looks fantastic. Salad + sandwich is one of my favorite combos, especially in the spring/summer!

  5. I always loving seeing older men with feminine brands. I don’t know why but I just get this feeling that his loving wife packed him lunch :)

  6. I love that you took a picture of that man! haha love seeing stuff like that

Ah, dead week. Hm, let’s just say a majority of my projects are due this week as opposed to next? I am not sure how our schools STILL issue information for the final, but you got this! Am digging the lulu lunches.

    GOOD LUCK THERESA!! :)

Last quarter during dead week I tried meditation, and it really helped! Just closing my eyes for 5 minutes during studying made the biggest difference! Good luck with your exams!

  9. Keep on keepin on!! You’ll be done soon :) Omg and just be happy winter is over and spring quarter is coming! Spring quarter senior year was hands down THE best quarter of my college career…academically AND socially! Thanks to saving my easiest upper div classes for last, and one or two too many Loops :-P

And I miss Silvergreens!! So delicious…so overpriced. Hahah.

Ahhh…I totally remember what that was like when I was in college. Granted, I went to a performing arts college so we just had a zillion performances, scenes to memorize, plays to read, etc. Just keep pushing forward- it’ll be over before you know it!
The Banana Nut Quest bars are one of my favorite flavors! Mmm…

  11. Haha I’m imagining some great pick up lines with the lululunches: “hey, I couldn’t help but notice that we both pack our lunches in Lulu Lemon bags. . .” Exercise is my go-to for finals stress–I always try to squeeze in some good workouts and yoga classes! Good luck on finals Theresa!

  12. That Quest bar is my favorite, the rest are delicious, but that one is the best!

  13. 10 more weeks girl.. you can do it!! :) :)

  14. I try to work out when I’m stressed or yell into pillows. It helps and doesn’t terrify my neighbors. I love your berries for breakfast and the Lululemon man in Santa Barbara. Very funny.
